Position Overview

Job Title: Part-time EOIR Case Attorney
📍Location: Remote 
🕒Schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST | Approximately 30 hours per week
💰Pay: $3,000 / month
 
📍 While this is a remote position, candidates should be based in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania.
Equipment: You must provide your own computer, headset, and high-speed internet

Your Role as EOIR Case Attorney:
As an EOIR Case Attorney at Dalal and Mehta Law, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the legal team with the management and oversight of removal defense cases before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR). This position ensures that EOIR cases progress efficiently through the system by coordinating legal strategy, case timelines, client communication, filings, and hearing preparation. The role bridges legal and administrative functions, ensuring attorneys are supported and clients are informed throughout their proceedings.
 
Furthermore, you will hold the following responsibilities:
- Represent clients in removal and deportation proceedings before EOIR.
- Prepare legal briefs, motions, and filings related to EOIR cases.
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on complex immigration issues.
- Attend master and individual hearings, either virtually or in person.
- Maintain client communication and case management.
- Appear for master calendar hearings, if during working hours.
- Individual hearing coverage, if wish to work on them, will be paid additional.

 
To achieve success, you will be expected to showcase the following qualifications and attributes:
- Juris Doctor (JD) and active license to practice law in any U.S. state.
- At least 2 years of experience in immigration law, preferably in EOIR proceedings.
- Experience using ECAS (EOIR Courts & Appeals System).
- Strong understanding of asylum, cancellation of removal, and waivers.
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
- Exceptional multitasking abilities – Able to efficiently manage a caseload of approximately 100+ active deportation cases while maintaining quality and responsiveness.
- Ability to train paralegals.
